For demonstrating the absolute insecurity offered by unconfirmed Bitcoin transactions, Peter Todd was suspended from Reddit. Peter Todd, without using any script hash shenanigans mundanely sent a transaction with a low fee which was followed by a transaction with a higher fee using the same inputs. Miners opted to mine the transaction with higher fees as they often tend to. While many try to use unconfirmed Bitcoin transactions as a part of various pseudo business practices, actual uses demanding Bitcoin also demand the commitment of complete transactions to the blockchain.

Deputy Arrested For Dropbox Child Porn

Greene County Missouri Sheriff's deputy Juan T. Jones was arrested Wednesday for possessing child pornography on his account with cloud storage provider Dropbox (archived). Jones reportedly admitted to spending at least the last 10 years viewing and exchanging child pornography online while only spending the past two years as a Sheriff's Deputy in Greene County. This means that the Sheriff's department hired a man who already had been viewing child pornography for 8 years by the time he became a deputy. "Law enforcement" seems to be a disturbingly popular career field for pedophiles.

Iran Announces Hajj Ban

In the wake of escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran, the Iranian government has announced it is forbidding its citizens from undertaking the Hajj, a pilgrimage to the the cities of Mecca and Medina and obligatory religious duty in Islam. This measure illustrates that states can and do impede their citizen's right to exercise their conscience even when their government was nominally established as an expression of that conscience.

China Continues Forcing Stockholders To HODL

Reports are emerging that China's stock market regulators will continue to ban stock holders possessing more than 5% of a companies shares from selling (archived). The measure which appears intended to prevent actual market valuation of securities deprives the most significant investors in companies of their ability to reclaim value they put in while there is still value to save. As the global fiat system continues to decline expect more national market regulators to take extreme measures like this in order force disproportionate loss on the system's most critical private investors. Twitter Suspends Oregon Hero's Account

Twitter today suspended the account of Ammon Bundy, a member of the militia which liberated a portion of Oregon from Federal Forces. No explanation is available from Twitter as to why they are denying Bundy use of their platform (archived). Twitter has made it clear in the past that it would rather please the arthritic establishment than offer the future any quarter on its closed platform. Now matter how much various Silicon Valley properties say they value freedom of speech on their platforms, they continue to exclude actual dissidents with speech worth protecting.
