Last month USG.DoJ began the process of transferring former University of Tennessee Knoxville  Engineering professor An Ming Hu (WoT:nonperson) to the Bureau of Prisons, potentially cutting his welfare benefits substantially over Hu's similtaneous affiliations with NASA and Beijing University of Technology (archived, archived).

The interdepartmental transfer comes as USG.Red continues its push to curtail the USG.Blue tech transfer program to the Chinese Communist Party and amidst other cost cutting measures. Dr. Hu received $111,018 in benefits last year. If the transfer goes through he can expect to receive only around $47,000 in benefits per year (archived, archived).
