Commercial Ship Faces Siege At Sea After Rescuing African Migrants

The crew of the ship Vos Thalassa has barricaded themselves on the bridge after a number of Africans rescued at sea began trying to seize control of the ship (archived). The commercial vessel rescued 60 African migrants at sea in the Libyan coast guard's area of responsibility. Being a commercial cargo vessel and not a vessel run by an organization dedicated to building a Nation of Africa in Europe, the cargo vessel issued its own distress call when the migrants took poorly to the prospect of being disembarked in Libya.

Vos Thalassa is an Italian flagged offshore supply vessel currently supporting oil and gas operations for the French firm Total (archived).

Italian Government Working On Exit From F-35 Program

The new Italian government is working on developing an exit for Italy from the F-35 money pit (archived). The decision not to buy any more of the aircraft has already been announced along with the Italian intention to explore whether it is less expensive to cancel or receive delivery of their outstanding orders for 90 of the troubled aircraft.

German Government Divided As Interior Minister Decides To Skip Migrant Integration Summit

German interior minister Horst Seehofer has decided not to participate in an "Integration Summit" hosted by Mother Merkel in a growing internal dispute over Germany's border policies (archived). Seehofer has opposed Mother Merkel's demand that no migrants be denied entry to Germany, even if the migrants are caught in the act of entering illegally. Meanwhile Merkel is calling for a unified approach to the Migrant problem, chastizing the rest of the continent that:

Italy did not feel it was receiving sufficient support from other European Union states. (archived)

Earlier this week the new Italian Interior Minister closed all of the country's ports to a human trafficking vessel which intended to ferry more than 600 African clients from Libyan waters to Italy. Spain eventually decided to extend the vessel an invitation to offload its human cargo.

Populists Thwart Italian President – Candidate For Finance Minister Found Who Hasn't Talked About Leaving Eurozone… Yet

Italian populist parties managed to find a finance minister capable of salvaging their effort at forming a coalition government after the Italian President sabotaged their earlier efforts (archived). After Italian and international fiat markets suffered this week in the wake of President Sergio Mattarella's affront to their democracy, the puppet former IMF head Mattarella appointed as interim Prime Minister happily resigned his mandate when Five Star and the League found an anti-Euro finance minister who hadn't actually proposed leaving the Eurozone in public yet.

Italy: Pro-EU President Faces Impeachment Over Coalition Killing Veto

Italian President President Sergio Mattarella faces the threat of impeachment after sabotaging a coalition government negociated between the Five Star Movement and The League. Mattarella vetoed the appointment of Euroskeptic Paolo Savona as finance minister even though Euroskepticism was the driving force behind the populist electoral victory (archived). In defense of this affront to Italian Democracy Mattarella offered:

"I asked for… an authoritative person from the parliamentary majority who is consistent with the government programme… who isn't seen as a supporter of a line that could probably, or even inevitably, provoke Italy's exit from the euro"

How much more suffering under Mother Merkel's Fourth Reich will Italians tolerate?

Italian Election: Five Star And The League Nearing Coalition Deal

More than a month after election returns came in, the victorious Five Star Movement and The League are nearing a deal to enter into a governing coalition (archived). According to rumours the deal will include support for the Five Star Movement's socialist "citizen's income" and lower retirement age along with The League's proposed income tax cuts. Leaders of both parties however appear to find these concession to each other worthwhile in order to cement their shared vision of sending one huge "Fuck You" to the EU and Mother Merkel.

Italian Election Results Raise Possibility of #Italeave Coalition Government

Voters in Italy went big for anti European Union parties in the country's election over this past weekend. The 5 Star Movement won just under one third of the vote leaving it with a plurality of the parlimentary seats to be allocated. The traditional leftist pantsuit Democratic party managed less than 19 percent of the vote leaving it likely to be shut out of the upcoming effort to build a government. Two generally right wing parties by Italian standards Lega and Forza Italia won 17.7 and 13.9 percent of the vote. Make Italy, Great Again!

Venice Refugee Center Patrons Riot And Take Hostages

A refugee service center near Venice, Italy is facing a riot after one of the center's patrons died inside the internment camp. Angry patrons have set fires around the premises and barricaded the gates while social services workers administering the internment camp similarly barricaded themselves in their offices where they have become hostages. Italian security forces eventually quelled the internment camp uprising and allowed the camp administrators egress.

Renzi Resigns As Voters Reject His Agenda And Tell Brussels "Vaffanculo" Suggesting Future #Italeave

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi announced he would be stepping down after voters rejected his agenda of "reforms" during a referendum. As in Brexit and The Great Again's summoning, voters went populist and nationalist in rejecting the entrenched fiat establishment's plans. Once again voters "surprised" many purveyors of "Fake News" like the New York Times. This referendum's failure does not commit Italy to #Italeave the European Union, but it does kick the ball in that direction with a strong "Vaffanculo " directed at Brussels.

Italy Misses Terrorists Hits Gamers

After hilarious reports came out following the Friday the 13th Paris attacks that the Playstation home gaming console was involved in terrorist planning and coordination efforts, Italian Minister of Justice and founding member of the Italian Democratic Party Andrea Orlando has announced (archived) that one hundred and fifty million Euros are to be allocated to the increased surveillance and monitoring of digital communications in general and the Playstation system in particular. More credible reports indicate that the attacks were planned using plaintext SMS. Continue reading
