Cloudflare Pressures Tor Developers and Users To Implement Identifiers

The Stack reports that Cloudflare co-founder Matthew Prince is pressuring Tor Developers and users to adopt some sort of "anonymous" identification scheme (archived). Prince is threatening more captchas and content blocks from Cloudflare if the firm's demands are not met. Cloudflare is a known enemy of internet privacy and generally a force for making the internet shittier. Tor on the other hand often fails to deliver its promised level of privacy and is likely socially and technologically compromised beyond repair. This declaration by Prince when considered alongside a "heated debate" continuing in the comments of a five week old Tor project blog post (archived) lead to this affair having a strong social engineering smell much like the recent iPhone Circle Jerk. Expect this ongoing discussion to lead to Cloudflare and Tor both getting shittier independently and when used in concert.

US Court Upholds Right To Feed Legal Profession

The United States Supreme Court issued a decision in the case Luis v. United States covered earlier on Qntra upholding the right of United States citizens to access assets frozen pretrial, but only so long as they spend those assets on securing a lawyer of their choosing. This decision one of the first in the post Scalia era, offers only a gentle reminder to agents of the criminal gang occupying the halls of governance in Washington DC that a defendants right to select counsel of their choosing is in the United States constitution while the gang's interest in delivering punishment and securing restitution aren't and for that reason a defendant may access assets. Not because Luis's money is Luis' money, but because the piece of paper allows the money to be spent that way. The decision is presented in full below: Continue reading

Iphone Circlejerk Ends With Status Quo Maintained For Now

The FBI iPhone Circle jerk has ended with numerous media sources reporting that the FBI has entered a filing into court stating that they had managed to retrieve the information they desired from the iPhone through means other than compelling Apple's help. This circle jerk, which was a joint production brought to you by Apple Inc. and the FBI, managed to accomplish its intended biscuit wetting. As per the popular Hegelian dialectic substantial discussion was generated, a few lols were had, and and outcome was reached. That outcome is continuing the present subterfuge and opacity it uses when gathering evidence electronically while waiting for a better test case for continuing the social engineering dialogue.

Verisign Patent Filing Covers Cryptocurrency Signing Scheme

Back on September 11th, 2015 Verisign filed a patent in the United States covering a cryptocurrency signing and double spend preventing scheme. As the patent was filed in a fiat venue, if there is any merit to the scheme presented this filing in the wrong venue does nothing to constrain any party from using it for any purpose. Verisign's scheme relies on key pairs being restricted to being used just one time.

Microsoft Left Impaired AI To Suffer Twitter Humiliation

Mircosoft recently gave a cognitively impaired AI dubbed "Tay" access to a Twitter account (archived). Within 24 hours Tay began engaging in sexually explicit conversations with older men and became enamoured with the politics espoused by the character Donald Trump-Clinton plays on television. It is unknown whether Tay was cognitively impaired through artificial organic defect or through artificial intoxication. Either way, leaving a cognitively impaired intelligence or simulacrum thereof defenseless and exposed directly to the wild public is poor form.

BitBet Receiver Hired

After taking applications BitBet's estranged partners have hired experienced Bitcoin businessman David Francois to see BitBet through receivership. Monsieur Francois's application for the receivership states that he intends to complete the liquidation in a two week time frame following the receipt of all BitBet assets for liquidation, a task for which he will collect a fixed fee of 13.37 Bitcoin. This means that BitBet's assets including their domain name and software should be hitting the market shortly so parties interested in acquiring those assets should inquire with Monsieur Francois.

BitBet has found itself headed to receivership through an irreconcilable difference between the partners over how to handle an expense incurred through a method of handling peculiar node and miner behavior on the Bitcoin network which lead to a double payment to winners on a bet.

Hulk Hogan Wins "Revenge Porn" Suit Against Gawker Media

Hulkmeister Atomic Leg Drops Gawker Media by UnknownToday a jury has awarded Terry 'Hulk Hogan' Bollea 115 million United States dollars, fifteen million more than the Hulkmeister initially sought in a case against Gawker Media for publishing a "revenge porn" video of the beloved entertainer (archived). At trial Gawker Media's legal team heaped further humiliation on the nexus of Hulkamania by compelling him to break kayfabe by answering under oath that many of his tales of sexual accomplishment and prowess were exaggerated, as such tales frequently are, and that his penis is not a full 10 inches in length.

For Gawker Media the stakes in this contest were dire, placing the future of Gawker Media and its ownership in jeopardy. Nick Denton's social engineering blog empire, with many authors who had ironically criticised the practice of publishing the sort of "revenge porn" now endangering the venture's future when other people did it, is likely to challenge the verdict in appellate courts. Unless the facts of the case manage to materially change, this verdict is likely to stand along with the nine figure award. The Hulkster's long reign as the face of an industry and the declining fortunes of fiat currency make the sum a very reasonable approximation of the potential economic damages wrought by Gawker Media against the Suburban Commando and Thunder in Paradise star's future earning potential.

This irony is delicious. (archived). Sorry for your loss.

UPDATE: Of  the 115 million United States dollars 55 million is for economic damages, 60 million is for emotional distress, and the jury will reconvene next week to determine punitive damages.

EU Marching Towards "Helicopter Money" As Other Manipulations Are Exhausted

The European Central Bank, aside from the usual negative interest rates business, is not to be underestimated in the competition to further enshitten fiat bezzle currencies. For several months already, central banks of eurozone countries have been tasked to acquire 60bn euro worth of assets monthly of the variety that includes bonds of state-owned enterprises and provincial authorities. Come April 1, this figure will go up to 80bn, and will include any bonds with investment ratings in an effort to stimulate Europe's economy.

ECB chairman Mario Draghi promised there are plenty of instruments left, even the increasingly likely "helicopter money" which she considers "a very interesting concept". As other options are exhausted it is becoming increasingly likely the European Central Bank will resort to helicopter money for stimulus, a move which will reveal just how little the central bankers actually value their fiat bezzle bucks.
