Detroit's "Public Lighting Authority" has opened litigation against "Leotek Electronics USA" after newly installed LED streetlights are displaying signs of end of life wear well short of their anticipated 10 year lifespan. Detroit has spent 185 million USD in the last 3 years in an effort to light their streets. How much the new litigation will inflate this cost has yet to be seen.
