Assbot Gains Web of Trust Functionality

Recent downtime for nanotube's gribble bot on Freenode demonstrated a critical single point of failure in Bitcoin infrastructure. Today as a remedy to the problem Kakobrekla unveiled asswot functionality in assbot greatly increasing the robustness of the infrastructure Bitcoin business builds on top of. In an important improvement in the authentication model, all Web of Trust operations are now authenticated by decrypting one time passwords. The one time passwords expire within 15 minutes of being invoked, but assbot supports receiving decrypted passwords out of order.

The Crypto-Mises Podcast Second Episode Is Now Available

Daniel Krawisz and Michael Goldstein of the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute have released the second episode of their podcast titled The Crypto-Mises Podcast. Episode two discusses why the desire for monetary stability is based on economic fallacies.

Remittance Company Xoom Loses Corporate Cash To Fraud

Xoom's Chief Financial has resigned amid news that $30.8 million in corporate money had been transfered overseas. Xoom's primary business is allowing individuals in the United States to send money to people outside of the country.

This case continues to highlight the extreme vulnerability too fraud faced by companies handling United States Dollars. This company whose entire business was foreign money transmission lost when facing the inherent structural deficiencies of the fiat banking and money transfer system. It seems unlikely that the fiat monetary system can survive its backbone of insecurity.
