According to the BBC a wider variety of leftists in the United States are beginning to stockpile weapons. Traditionally only a subset of black American leftists stockpiled arms, but according to the British government's media arm the focus of this growth is among Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered, and otherwise Queer leftists who are forming their own gun clubs. But since the election of Donald Trump in November she has started going to a gun range for the first time and is shopping around for a semi-automatic pistol.
"It's been seeing the way that Trump's election has mobilised a lot of the far right and given them hope," she says, citing a rise in reports of hate crimes and neo-Nazi activity.
As a transgender woman, she does not fear for her personal safety in the Californian city where she now lives but she says she knows people in rural areas "who woke up and found a bunch of swastikas and words like 'faggot' and 'trannie' scrawled all over their building".
She foresees a wide-ranging struggle between the Trump administration and the left over issues such as immigration and racial politics.
But won't buying a gun just increase tensions?
"Things are already escalating and they will continue to do so and me not engaging or being prepared to defend my friends by force… isn't going to stop people from being attacked or harassed," Clara says.
So wait, all the quiet submission and anti-gun stuff was just bullshit ? They just imagined themselves ahead and claimed to believe in what seemed at the time politically expedient ?
Don't tell me the "left" is a group of hypocrites trying as best they can to eat other people's stuff!
The 2nd amendment is the greatest aspect of American culture, in my opinion.
I am happy to see more people begin to support it, be they leftoids, alt-righties, libertarians, centrists, or whatever.
Texas is the most-well mannered state in the US because it pays to follow the rules and be civil when even granny is packing a few calibers.
How do you measure wellmanneredness, incidentally ?
Well in the past I would have said it means to "treat others as you wish to be treated" but nowadays we have a lot of degenerates & masochists running around, heh.
One way to tell if you are "well-mannered" is that your behavior does not need to change depending on whether a person is armed or not. If you suddenly/magically change your attitude when you notice a weapon, that means you were doing it wrong to begin with.
Basically this entails things like:
"don't instigate unnecessary fights, or assume all fights will end with a gunfight and multiple fatalities and factor that into your cost-benefit analysis",
"don't share unsolicited negative opinions with random strangers (that's what your friends are for and the ballot box is for)",
"don't drive through a neighborhood blasting loud, shitty music with boosted bass that's causing cracks to appear in the paint on people's houses"
Or just move to Texas and interact for a couple years. Their behavior actually does not need to change regardless of whether the people around them are armed or not, which means "they're doing it right".
I've been to Texas, I like it just fine, they liked me just fine, that part's not in question. But theoretically speaking, the "unchanging behaviour" criteria would have the tower sniper guy as a paragon of well behaved wouldn't it.

In any case, yes, for nearly any generalization you can find a small percentage of exceptions.
