In recent days a number of developments have taken place in The Most Serene Republic of Bitcoin relevant to the future direction of Bitcoin, the experiment:
- Mircea Popescu offered that if miner defection became problematic he would not go to war over a hard fork to a different Bitcoin mining proof of work in the way that he would over a blocksize hard fork. Elaborating on the point today, Mircea issued a deed reaffirming that should miners decide to point their substantial capital investment away from Bitcoin and instead towards a USG supported altcoin, extreme measures may be taken. Any forked USG Altcoin would end in the same kind of failure as their previous Bitcoin efforts.
- A Genesis document for a V manual was offered after discussion determined an RFC for V would be inappropriate.
- The abusive populist interpretation (archived) of the Hegelian Dialectic1 was identified as an insufficiently documented social engineering vector favored by USG agents. Among thinking persons the underlying principles of popular "Hegelianism" were rebutted long ago. Further exploration of this matter will occur in a different venue in the future.
Applications of this may be identified by polarized "debates" where two objectionable positions are set against each other to push a median objectionable outcome between the two poles. Sane positions are excluded by dialogue participants. ↩
Wut?
Would TB.F's client switch to the new PoW? And if so, will the SegWit vendetta be maintained?
You'd have to ask them about the first point. On the second point so long as Seg Wit is an opt-in matter it only hurts the people duped into using it.
