Reddit Drops "CryptoCurrency Engineer"

Ryan X. Charles has announced that he is no longer working for Reddit, a "social media" platform with questionable practices. He was hired in December of last year and tasked with producing yet another scam-coin. Redditnote has not materialized during the two months of Charles' employment, and although his statement implies that it will be abandoned, there is no official affirmation at this time. It is now unclear as to how Reddit will make good on its promise to "give back" 5 million dollars.

  1. Redditnote's got nothing on S.QNTR. By writing this article for qntra, I will have made more money writing about reddit than all of its users combined have made writing for reddit. Can you cash in all that comment karma? Didn't think so.

  2. The linked reddit blog post makes no mention of giving back anything, has it been edited?

    • It's towards the end of the post.

We think we've come up with a way. Led by Sam, the investors in this round have proposed to give 10% of their shares back to the community, in recognition of the central role the community plays in reddit's ongoing success. We're going to need to figure out a bunch of details to make it work, but we're hopeful. We'll have more specifics to share about it soon, but in the meantime we wanted to mention it here.

  3. Ah, I missed that, and I missed the quotes on "give back"
