Hashers United Con-ference

Hashers United is billed as the first global bitcoin conference focused on the problems facing miners. This includes important issues affecting the industry such as the market outlook and the trends that determine what decisions you must make to ensure profitability1. It is scheduled to be held on October 10th and 11th, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Tuscany hotel and casino. This is the event GAW Miners referred to when they spoke about revealing their hats and t-shirts.

The brainchild of a group called Final Hash2, who describe themselves as experts with years of experience in the cryptocurrency mining industry, it promises to be an event brimming with more bullshit than your typical bitcoin conference.

Featured Speakers include:

Tim Draper, Draper Fisher Jurvetson Venture.
Josh Garza, CEO of GAW Miners.
Charlie Lee, Creator, Litecoin.

as well as:

Marshall Long, Executive Technical Director, Final Hash.
Michael Terpin, Co-Founder and Chairman, BitAngels.
Jacob Smith, Researcher, University of Houston.
Hass McCook, Advisor, Lifeboat Foundation.
Emin Gun Sirer, Researcher, Cornell University.
Arvind Narayanan, Princeton.
Andrew Miller, University of Maryland.

The majority of the speakers are not known for mining nor do the majority of the scheduled talks indicate that is what will be discussed. As is often the case, scammers like to position themselves alongside respectable people to give the impression of authenticity to their schemes.

At $199 per ticket3, the only thing being mined are the pockets of the naive.
