A move to block access to Bitcoin related websites from within Russia earlier this year has been overturned according to a Russian bitcoin news site (archive) after representatives from Bits.media as well as Bitcoinconf.ru successfully argued that the decision to ban their websites should be cancelled.
The cancellation of the January decision applies not only to Russian based Bitcoin sites but to popular English sites such as Bitcoin.org and the Bitcoin.it wiki page. A list of sites reported to soon be unblocked from within Russia includes:
- bitcoin.org
- indacoin.com
- coinspot.ru
- hasbitcoin.ru
- bitcoinconf.ru
- bitcoin.it
- btcsec.com
Bits.media also pledged to release a transcript of the May 15th hearing within the next few days which will presumably be in Russian.
Anybody know why a "regional" court is handling this case?
