[ Date: 2016.02.25 ]
[ Co-Chairs: mod6 [R.01] && ben_vulpes [R.02] ]
0x00]: Introduction
It is with great honor and privilege that The Bitcoin Foundation embraces
this opportunity to address the public on the state of current progress,
obstacles and continuing steps in our mission.
0x01]: Accomplishments
[ Programmable Version String Fix & Regrind ]:
A defect was found in the original submission [R.03] by asciilifeform
[R.04]. A fix for this was integrated and the vpatch was reground and
resubmitted [R.05] by mod6.
[ Malleus Mikehearnificarum Regrind]:
The original ``Malleus Mikehearnificarum'' vpatch [R.06] was also reground
and resubmitted [R.07] in concert with the fix for the Programmable Version
String vpatch [R.05].
[ V - Defect Resolution & Release of V [v99995] ]:
A defect was found in V [v99996] in the verify_pressed subroutine. This
prompted mod6 to make not only a fix to this, but a handful of other small
fixes. To encourage early testing of these fixes mod6 published beta
vpatches [R.08] [R.09] [R.0A] [R.0B] to be applied on top of V [v99996].
This method of publishing beta patches before rolling out a full new
release of V [v99995] [R.0C] helped to ensure that the changes to the code
were well tested. In addition to the release, the automated tests were
updated where required, and new tests added to validate the changes made.
[ build-script-v99995K ]:
Since V [v99995] [R.0C] was published, this also triggered mod6 to update
the build script to version 99995 K [R.0D] to utilize the new version of V.
[ New Mailing List Features ]:
Thanks to jurov, [R.0E] the mailing list has some new features [R.0F] to
help email submission work more smoothly. These features include a new
web-submission form, post tracking via SHA1 hash of the email header, and
raw mbox archives available for download.
0x02]: Complications and Obstacles
0x03]: Continuing Steps
Next months main focus will be on integration of trinque's [R.10] makefiles
[R.11] as was described in section 0x03 of last months State of Bitcoin
Address [R.12].
0x04]: Conclusion
The Bitcoin Foundation would like to bestow our sincerest thanks and
gratitude to the contributors and community for its support and insight.
